Fukui, Kyoto, & Final thoughts: Sarah

Hello! Today is our final time in Japan with a full day of travel ahead of us to get back to the US.

We had our workday in Fukui which was a success!

Matterport scans were complete, audio was taken, the demo of the tabibito app was filmed, and plenty of go pro pictures and videos were captured!! After our work at Daihonzan Eiheiji we had a team lunch over some delicious ramen featured below.

The past two days in Kyoto were also wonderful. There are many pocket temples in the area, great food, and Scott and I visited the International Manga Museum.

Kyoto definitely had the most tourists (substantially more than Fukui in particular) which was interesting to see walking around the crowded city streets.

Since it is our last few hours in Japan here are some random thoughts/opinions on things I saw during my time here!

  • The convenience store food is really good, particularly the egg salad sandwiches.
  • The subway is very clean and very quiet (it was lovely).
  • Toothpicks are everywhere, but trash cans are nowhere.
  • There is an abundance of vending machines, which is amazing!
  • Cash is king, but the minimum you can take out at an ATM is 70usd.

This has been a once in a lifetime experience I am so grateful I got to experience!
